First of all - to keep everyone up to speed - Mason lost his 2nd tooth Friday the 13th (yes, it was over a week ago). He seems to always lose them when we are NOT at home. This makes things a little tricky for me. This last time I almost lost it!! I put it in a zip lock baggy (the tooth is TINY) - but it was recoved in the nick of time.
Second (and most importantly) I have had some concerns about how thouroughly my children brush their teeth. I have found a solution. There is a product out there called Agent Cool Blue (it is by Listerine). How it works is you swish it around in your mouth (it premeasures itself which is fantastic) and spit it out, all your teeth are now a bluish color (they call it a Pre-Brush tinting rinse). Now, you get to brush your teeth, but have to brush all the blue off! I know they are brushing longer and better. I always have to "smell my breath" when they are done (their breath, not mine). The first day I brought this home (I purchased it at Target) I think they each brushed their teeth 4 times. The only downside is that it is kind of pricey (over $5 for the bottle and regular kids mouthwash is about $2) and they use a lot of it. Hopefully this will create good habits! Oh, btw, my kids don't like really "minty" type flavors - they think they are spicy (yeah, I know "spicy" - huh?) so we get the Bubble Blast - they think it is fantastic!!!
